Default Ultimately pwned in this hand

OMG this was just crazy.

Anyways, playing in a very loose and somewhat agressive 10/20 game, live.

Early dude limps, I raise AKo, called around and 7 to the flop, 14 bets. The early dude is a guy who can go nuts sometimes, but also is a pro as far as I can tell... I don't see him really tilt from losing or winning, just maybe get bored and go nuts or something, I don't know.

Anyways, flop is: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

checked to me, I bet. 5 calls (10bb)

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

checked to me, I bet, either the SB or button calls, and the early dude calls. (13 bb)

River: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

early dude bets into me.

I stop for like 10-15 seconds or something, because I'm trying to figure out if I should go for the overcall, or raise vs the early dude. If early dude is bluffing, then I'm not going to make that much more money out of him, I'm probably beating early dude, but I don't know if the guy behind me will call 2... but he might have a busted draw so it wouldn't be a big deal... etc...

Anyways, I decide to raise.

So I raise, then the guy behind me dumps, and early dude 3 bets.

I sorta shake head a bit and think well, 42o wouldn't limp early, 55 can't get there, 77 didn't raise turn?... Meh, so I 4-bet (no cap now that it's HU). 64 wouldn't have anything on the flop, so unless he has exactly 64 clubs he can't really have me beat here.

He 5 bets.

I say, "Dude, there's NO way."

And he says instantly "Hey man, call in you want, or you can keep raising."

I muck, he shows 54s hearts. Thing that bugs me is that he couldn't reasonably represent anything that beat me, so I figured that he would pretty much have to actually have it in order to 5 bet...

22 bet pot.

But I've never ever ever seen anyone 5-bet without the nuts like ever.

What a bastard... he's definitely going down in the future.

I was UTG+2, made two easy PF folds and left the table when the BB hit me. After JUST paying session fee.

Why do you hate the iPhone so much you would just throw one away like that?

As soon as he speaks I insta call.

I've never seen anyone 5-bet in a live game, in like 3 years of playing, without having second nuts... I didn't even have close to second nuts in this hand.

But god damn... I don't know about this hand.

I actually don't feel too bad about it, because he 5-bet this hand in a 22 bet pot, getting those odds he's not going to fold me like 1/4 of the time, so I should still make money off this guy, but...

Maybe I should have just called the three bet... but I just wasn't convinced that my hand wasn't still winning there.

Meh.

No, I wish I was joking, but I'm not.

Hmm, maybe you don't play in this game anymore?

But seriously...
22:1 - top two - relatively non-scary board - muck - WTF?!?!

DC, I might have just gone for the overcall when villain bet the river.

As you know, for your river raise to be correct, you have to expect to have the best hand ~ 2/3 of the time in case you are 3-bet. That is because we assume that you will call the 3-bet !

Anyway, your river raise was fine for the reasons you gave.

However, once villain 3-bet the river, I would probably have called.

Now, your play on the river may have been better than mine, up until you folded.

Once you reached the river, I think that you had to showdown your hand at some stage, however you decided to play.

"Dont fold decent hands for 1 more bet in big pots" - Ed. Miller.

Anyway, hope you win some chips from that guy if you play against him again.

edit: meh i thought you mistyped board. i thought river was a 6 and he had 54s which would have been played 100% standard postflop. anyway i laughed at your river 4-bet because i thought you messed up the river card. still, most players aren't 3-betting you with anything that doesn't beat aces, so your 4-bet is burning money.
