Hit the nuts, but not extracting. Was there a better way to handle it
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Hero ($15.45) UTG :#A500AF(Villain1)/ ($2.95) MP ($14.35) Button ($11.10) SB :#A500AF(Villain2)/ ($11) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG :#A500AF(Villain1)/ calls $0.10, 2 folds, SB :#A500AF(Villain2)/ completes, Hero checks. Flop: ($0.30) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Villain2 checks, Hero checks, Villain1 bets $0.1, Villain2 calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.4, Villain1 calls $0.30, Villain2 calls $0.30. Turn: ($1.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Villain2 checks, Hero bets $1.45, Villain1 folds, Villain2 folds. Final Pot: $1.50 So I posted one where I got it all-in, here's my hand where hitting the nuts got me not so much. Was the line okay, or could I have extracted big time? |

Since you decided to c/r, you should make it .6 or so, but I would generally lead since we can't expect villain1 to bet for us.

Re: Hit the nuts, but not extracting. Was there a better way to handl
getting paid on hands is just the same as getting coolered. you can't base your decision of your play on the immediate result. its weird that people learn this fast when it comes to the former, but not the latter.
in this case, your in a 3 way pot with a really good board for getting some action, so leading out for the ammount of the pot is probably the best idea, unless you're sure that someone will bet. i mean, you wouldn't dare bluff in that same situation, so its a really good situation for value betting. this time, no one had anything. oh well. just keep in mind that the higher you bet with the nuts, the less often you have to be successful to come out with the same ammount. it also makes your bluffs more viable, and in this case, protects your hand. |

way to beat 10nl: overbet your big hands.

I lead the flop for like 1.5x pot and on a safe turn I do the same.

you can't expect UTG to bet for you so do it yourself, there was no raise so don't expect tons of action, think about the disaster it would be if he checks and a spade came and someone wakes up, not only the spade is bad, a Q or K will either kill your action or you will chop
