McCoy, so you are saying in St. Louis, they have less levels than what they are going to have in Tunica?

Cindy - Effectively yes - NOW I should be very clear that the tourney's that Pujos and were discussing are the normal $100 to $500 buy in's that are ran here weekly. Actually they stopped holding $500 buy ins do to lack of interest and the problem Missouri has with chip purchases ($500 max every two hours is the state law). St Louis Harrah's holds a $300 on the first Saturday of each month and $150 buyin each Thursday and $125 on the other Saturday's.

For sure in the $300 they start at 25/50 and SKIP the $300/600 level going directly from 200/400 to 400/800.

I am NOT positive on the $125 because I simply do not play them enough to be SURE if they have 300/600 or not as a level anymore. At one time they did but the last time I played it was skipped.

St Louis room isn't bad and some of the floor staff is competent but sadly most are mediocre at best. They definitely do NOT follow (or know) TDA rules in all cases so you can't be sure of some rulings.

McCoy is pretty spot on with his desription of the tourneys here in STL, though I do want to say that the 300-600 level WAS there when I played the $125 two Saturdays ago (in fact I ran quite lucky in that tourney and finished 2nd out of 70 for a nice $1.6K payout).

My issue with the Harrah's tourneys is the rake. The $125 is a $100+25. That's just absurd to me, when I can play a $100+9 on Stars all day. Though the tournament of champions they run here does use some of that absurd rake, so it does make it a bit more bearable.

Just curious, but which two plus two'rs are going to this one? I was going, but had something come up, so I had to cancel. (bummer for me)

I will be there tomorrow evening. Set up to stay through the 8th depending on the action and how the cards fall.

Don't sweat missing it - anymore there is always another Tourney around the corner. Build your BR for January and hit them a lick then.

Never been to one of these circuit events - I live in Memphis - can I just show up to play in these things a couple hours in advance? Are there any kind of charges/fees besides the basic tournament buy-ins I should know about?

What's the latest you can register for events? Pretty much right up to it? I was originally going just for cash games and the Missouri/Ole Miss game on the 8th, but if I can win the buy in for the $1000 event on the 8th, I'm skipping the game. The thing is, I won't know pretty much until late Friday night/Saturday morning if I can accomplish that.

Actually, you can register normally in most WSOPCE events, as long as there are open seats, up to when the first raising of the blinds takes place (in this case, I think that's 50 minutes into the event).

Has anyone played in any of the events yet, and if so, do you have a trip report on it?
