How do you people play this?

i know i f'd it up on the flop. But that got me curious since these type of spots are toughies i think.

4 possiblities:

1) the hand is easy to play post-flop, so calling pre-flop is +EV

2) The hand is easy to play, and sometimes you flop the nuts and make a bunch of money.

3) the hand is really hard to play unless you flop the nuts, but flops the nuts often enough to win enough money to make up for that

4) the hand is hard to play and doesn't flop the nuts often enough

You said you call pre-flop pretty automatically, so I assume you believe that 1, 2, or 3 are true.

But then you say that "spots like these are toughies" and spots like these are actually pretty common (if you ignore all the obvious spots you are c/folding without even thinking), so now I believe you think 3) is true.

If you are calling simply because you beleive 3) is true, you should really fold pre-flop.

What would be the point of a flop c/r? are we just looking to fold out 87+?

definitely calling PF then leading this flop...probly a good spot to fire a second barrel as well
