Default Scroll wheel not scrolling....

PLEASE HALP!!!

Logitech MX1000. Tried restarting... All other special buttons for the mouse work fine (there are scroll up and down buttons right on front and behind scroll wheel even that are working). Middle-clicking scroll wheel works too...

I realy don't want to install crappy logitech software so please try to work around that restrictions

It just started not-scrolling? Does it feel like the wheel is still registering when you spin? (The little ticks as the wheel rolls.)

You could try installing the crappy logitech software (and I do admit that it is crappy), seeing if it registers you spinning, and then uninstall it after finding out if it's a hardware issue.

edit: I had a thought; is there an AHK listener for mousewheel spinning? Maybe you could write your own spin-sensor, to see if the mouse stopped sending spins or if the OS stopped scrolling.

Well that didn't work... there wasn't even an area in there to see the scrolling... I'll see if I can find an AHK function that can interact with it

Do you have another computer you could try it on? If it works on another computer, at least you could rule out the possibility that it's a hardware problem.

WheelUp:: and WheelDown:: hotkeys will catch it.

You don't have any AHK running already that would be trapping the events?

Does it work if you boot a Knoppix or similar?

wtf... so I tried it on kyleb's computer (just the mouse, not the base station) cause we have the same mouse and it worked on his. So I tried his on mine and it woudln't even connect to it... then I reconnected mine and it's working now.

Hurray for troubleshooting
