Default Question about Shootouts

Do you think the shootout style tournaments would favor a STT player more then a MTT player? Why?

I think it would, its basically like a bunch of STT's, you start with the same stack at every new table and everything.

Default Re: Question about Shootouts

Um, that is not correct, at least not for the partypoker shootout tournaments.

Everyone starts with 3000 and blind levels are pretty long. When there are 3 players left, that table is finished, and the 3 players are rewarded money from 1st to 3rd depending on chip stacks. When all tables are finished, the remaining players are reseated at new tables w/ the chip stack from the previous table (+some fixed amount of chips, depending on what round it is).

But to answer the original question: yes, these tournaments do favour a STT player. Expecially from the 2nd round on, as everyone is usually pretty short (10-20bb) and ICM play is predominate.

I'd suggest the turbo DSOs, if you thinking of trying them out.
