Re: QQ Early

Re: QQ Early
You are way ahead of MP2's likely range, which could be as wide as 22+, A2+, K9+, QJ, or something like that, or more likely 44+, A7+, KJ+...
SB's minraise could be worrisome. Either he has KK+ (about 30% of the time) or random donk range, which is at the very least 66+, AT+, KQ+. You pwn these ranges. Push. |

Re: QQ Early
This is a problem i often run into. I am playing a 20$/30$ sng...more the 30s nowadays, and i raise with QQ in ep/mp, somebody reraise in lp, then somebody else reraises all in. Against normal sane opponents there is no way i am any better than 50/50 here..but the problem is ...how do you play against donks who you know will overplay their hands. I have seen 88-JJ/AQ+ enough to make this profitable i think...DEFINATELY so at the 20s...but at the 30s it seems like they have more clue and you are nearly always running into AK minimum.
Assuming they are donks (average player at those stakes) seems like a mistake...since even if they are, do you need to take the risk so early on or use your edge later on? |

Re: QQ Early
yeah those ranges are definetly way off lastchance. without any information about these guys, id have to assume they know early position raises have tighter ranges...which means they arent going to reraise with K9 or 22 in middle position. Realistically I would expect TT+ AJ+ The CO should have a tigher range that that, which means I'm happy if I'm in a coinflip situation with AK

Re: QQ Early
Everyone is donks. You're initial raiser, so that's one guy we don't have to worry about. MP2 reraises you, he could have anything, you are way ahead here, 90% chance he's just donking it up with a hand you have completely, totally crushed (and you have anything that's KK, AA, or AK) crushed. TT+, AJ+ for this n00b is way too tight.
SB's minreraise is the one we have to worry about, because it's a minreraise. A bunch of people do this, and they're telling you they have KK or AA. The other people who do this are complete donks, and there are a lot of complete donks out there, which is why I push without reads. |
