Where's my AFC power rankings? I'm about ready to go into a blind rage over this. [/ QUOTE ] Word. I have JAX/KC/HOU in unconventional spots. Commented on those and any other I think are unconventional. Flame away! GOGOOGOGOGOOGOOOOOO. Can't wait for Sluss's. Can’t Wait For Week 9 1.New England Patriots (7-0) 1b.Indianapolis Colts (6-0) Elite… in the NFC 3. Tennessee Titans(4-2): Vince? 4. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2): Defense?(surprisingly) 5. San Diego Chargers (3-3): Norv? LOL INJURYAMENTS 6. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2): Only this far a drop because Garrard’s a bigger loss than most people think, esp. with the way this offense operates. Without him, week 9 will be very telling in Tennessee. Still willing to give run defense the benefit of the doubt, given this week’s matchup opened up the run. 7. Kansas City Chiefs (4-3): You will all tell me I have them too high. Fair enough. 9. Houston Texans (3-4): Surprisingly, Schuab being down isn’t as big of a deal to me as it is with Garrard. The supposedly improved/underrated/up and coming defense that is underperforming is. 8. Denver Broncos(3-3): Big win, Big losses. Has Potential? 10. Cleveland Browns (3-3): 11. Baltimore Ravens (4-3): Team I think sucks worse than most people do. Will be hard to tell because they have a rough stretch soon and will likely get owned. 12. Cincinnati Bengals(2-4): I wish I could put them higher. Can’t bring myself in good conscience to. 13. Buffalo Bills (2-4): LAWL 14. Oakland Raiders(2-4): 15. New York Jets (1-6): 16. Miami Dolphins(0-7): |

[ QUOTE ] I think the Giants are a real team to watch now. That defensive line is unstoppable. In the playoffs that line could make any QB have an awful game, so I could see them doing something. Unfortunately Eli is their QB. [/ QUOTE ] The Giants under Tom Coughlin..... 2004: Started 5-2. Finished 6-10 2005: Started 5-2. Had a great year to finish 11-5, but then got creamed 23-0 at home in the first round of playoffs 2006: Started 6-2. Finished 8-8 and only made the playoffs because the NFC was a joke. Lost in the first round of the playoffs. 2007: Started 5-2.... [/ QUOTE ] Yeah this is a pretty terrible, BSP-type post. It ignores things like (a) new OC and DC this year and (b) brutal injuries to their best players, which they somehow have avoided this year, but which devastated them each of the past 2 or 3 seasons after those hot starts. |

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 7)
I don't disagree at all that Tarvaris Jackson isn't an NFL calibur QB. I will say, though, that the Vikings receiving core has been just as embarrassing. The only person with a +DVOA receiving is TE Visanthe Shiancoe. I would be very surprised if the Vikings aren't leading the league in drops...

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 7)
Not to mention Eli coming in for Kurt Warner in 04 and them tanking the end of the season. I don't really remember it that well, but I thought they had a pretty good chance to make the playoffs that year with Warner. Did something happen that got him benched, or did they just figure it was time for Eli? I think it was the latter

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 7)
Warner started 9 games that year (played in a total of 10). He only had 6 TDs, was sacked 39 times and had 12 fumbles... he really was not getting anything done. He had a few good games early but then nothing special after that.

It looks to me like these NFC teams are all playing to be the SuperBowl loser.
