NL25: Playing a strong draw correctly
I got a lot of help with these kinds of hands recently from the forum and I've reread the section in NLHTAP. But, I still don't feel like I have my head totally around the concepts involved, so I'd like to do a street by street with this hand from today.
Questions: a) pf ok? b) how much to bet the flop? Re: NL25: Playing a strong draw correctly
Ok this is a new site for me, the software is unfamiliar, I meant to go .75 but it went .50 by mistake but who cares.
So, the turn is a blank, I figure someone will open the betting so I decide to check and gauge the interest. Villain checkraises us, what now? Re: NL25: Playing a strong draw correctly
so I'm not familiar with how donktastic people play at nl25 but:
I'm not liking this and I think I give up here; MP2 could have A high flush draw and button could have better draw as well. The only river I'm really confident in is a 6. 6 spades would be pretty sick though, I'd call w/ super deep stacks. |

Re: NL25: Playing a strong draw correctly
Well, there are good and bad players, as there are at every level. As you go up the ranks, the ratio of good to bad changes, but that's about the only difference I've seen in my limited experience.
Interesting thoughts. I actually felt that MP2 more likely had a made hand, most likely Ax, and was trying to charge the draws, and that BTN was in a similar spot to me. PT doesn't work properly on this site, but I was single tabling and had watched MP2 for an hour or so, so I felt I had some idea of what he was up to, I had seen him do something like this in a previous hand. Based on that logic, what about a reraise of say 6-8 bucks or maybe even a shove to push out any draws? |

But, that draw to the straight flush was just too tempting so I called. Then we have the river, which brought good and bad news.
