you did a real good job of making a point i have never been able to get across on these forums: live poker (and online as well) is basically pretty sleazy. all the things that make a great poker player make this inevitable.....deceit, guile, dishonesty, double-speak, poor memory when it comes to borrowed money, filthy working conditions, generally living conditions to match, and a criminal record is frequently there for a topping. i played live card-rooms and home games for 10 years as a grinder--this was the great majority of what i saw.....................b

I can't hate on Men for having a refugee mentality and doing whatever it takes to win. This is poker and, like it or not, cheating has always been a big part of the game. Even if MTM uses some dishonest tactics to win, think of all the players he's supported through his tutelage, not to mention his charitable donations.

Men is like a poker "Godfather", you can expect corrupt practices from his "family". I like this concept. Plus, he gets drunk during tournaments.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm glad you enjoy the Tilt-style storyline aspect of all this, but for those of us who try to make an honest living at tournaments it's very disturbing.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah I found this guys whole post disturbing

Am I correct in understanding what a 'short-change' is? Men calls the all-in and puts in less than the amount of the all-in?

How would someone do this? I'm assuming splashing the pot.

Joey Croissant: "Jesus [censored] Christ, how much money did you have?"

Michel: "After I bet I would quietly slide my chips back toward my stack, nobody noticed."

Blasphemer!

I have Men The Master bobblehead # 14 of 5,000. How dare you insult my hero!

All You Can Eat Baby!

Yeah, I know, the thing looks nothing like him. I should've gotten the Triumph The Insult Comic Dog one instead:

Bobblehead, Image Links Not Showing Up?

In all seriousness. I've heard a lot of bad things about Men. And I can definetely see his outward friendliness hiding a dark underside of hate and contempt for anyone who isn't part of his crew.

Then again, the guy did come from Vietnam, so he's got that survivors mentality perhaps.

I don't approve of cheating, no matter how entertaining the player is. One of my buddies from high school (who just so happened to be from a 3rd world country, Nicaragua, land of the mysterious Chupucabra) was ridiculously entertaining in our home game.

But I also started catching him splashing the pot with 50 chips when the bet was 150. Forgetting to post his ante hand after hand. I'd bring it up and he'd try to joke it off, and I wound up having to boot him from my game.

He has 1 on both sides, I wonder if u pull on both of them at same time if his head pops off. Portable dental floss?

I guess he's attached to it, like Phil and 'Jesus' to their facial growths, I HAD a mole on my neck, I hated, it was removed in 1990, and if I can do it... what's up wit dat?
