sorry i misread it.. i meant hu against lag.. he's in blinds with 3-bet

and u are in CO or button steal position..

is smooth calling a 3-bet optimal? AA is prolly standard but KK?

[/ QUOTE ]

It doesnt really matter whats most optimal sometimes you have to deviate from that in order to balance your range. But smoothing IP is often a very good play.

Yeah I was being ironic to point out that you weren't being too helpful just saying "it's bad".

Making a 4-bet less than all-in shows more strength than shoving here IMHO.

You realise that this and a shove are exactly the same thing. He never EVER bluffs over the 220, also we never make it 220 and fold. Therefore they are the same, IMO a shove gets looked up lighter than a 220 raise because that just looks so damm strong.

Also it saves us from the ugly spot where we make it 220, we get called and the flop is A high.

i agree with this.

if u shove ak in this spot u should also shove with kings from time to time.

so spew its not funny. u get called by AA here only, and loose so much value from QQ/JJ/AK, or whatever medium pair the guy who cold called has.

[/ QUOTE ]Do you actually play these stakes?

OP do whatever you do with AK here. If you shove with AK then shove here.

Exactly these players at high stakes think about what the other player has too much and overplay lots of their hands. Go figure, im sure a QQ maybe even JJ will look you up. Then when they do have AA it is just a cooler.
