5/10- 300xBB deep with KK in 4-bet pot.
He is TAG 25/21/4.8 90 hands. Don't know if he has 4-bet before.
Hero: 26/22/5 I have been 3-betting with a pretty wide range. Stacks $3000 UTG folds, Villian raises $40,Button call,SB call, and Hero raises to $230 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], villian makes it $500 total. What should I do?.... I call. Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check, he bets $700 into $1k pot. I call. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, he shoves $1800............ |

[/ QUOTE ] I have never folded KK pre and would never have folded it on a dry board like this in a 4bet preflop pot but i agree it definetly looks like AA. Really tough spot. Only thing I can say is that this is way too big of a pot to start evaluating on a street later than the flop. If you were to make a fold on this hand it should be pre or on flop, but i dont fault a showdown either. |

Re: 5/10- 300xBB deep with KK in 4-bet pot.
Does anyone like a 5bet pre to about 1400. If he pushes or even calls for that matter, and he isnt crazy which you say he isnt, then he has AA, and you can get away?

If you have him beat or tied he will most likely fold. If i got a call on a raise to 1400 I would be looking for a K on the flop and folding a dry board. I just cant see any other hand but AA calling the fifth bet pre from this villian. |

Re: 5/10- 300xBB deep with KK in 4-bet pot.
Yes. there is already 1000 in the pot. if he was getting over agro with JJ QQ AK or KK then he gives up and you take the 1000 pot. If you just smooth call his 4bet you will never be able to get a way from the hand with almost all flops. And even with 1/2 your stack in there isnt odds for continuing if you are 90-95% sure he has KK or AA. No option is great. But i think this is your only decent option if you want to try to get away from the hand. If you choose to be commited no matter what then just play it as played.

Re: 5/10- 300xBB deep with KK in 4-bet pot.
I hate the 5bet idea. He is repping AA preflop and he's not making this w/o AA or as a bluff w/ some sort of drawing hand. so you put more money in the pot against aa as a 4-1 dog and let him off the hook when hes a 4-1 dog.
first of all i make the 3bet larger preflop since you're so deep... you barely bet more than pot. in line with my previous analysis i think he either has aa or air so i like your flop play, and i think i'd probably fold the turn. i mean he's tag and most tags aren't capable of putting 600bbs in with air... think does he expect you to fold kk/qq here? probably not... plus AA is still in your range. |
