Default is this a snap call?

No reads on villains except utg is 45/17 and SB is 34/16.

I folded here because with the 8 on the river some possible straights hit. UTG snap called - I'm sure he has an ace but I'm having a hard time justifying him having AJ. I really didn't see myself being good with a call here. Is this weak? Do I call because I'm getting 3:1?

Finally, should I have blocked the river even though that scare card came out?
