Two Pair -- Live game
Live $5-5-10 NL (spread limit actually) at Bay101.
Full table. I have been tight solid so far, Villain is a regular who wears a FT hat and may be a live pro there. He seems good and has made some bluffs but has shown down decent hands in bigger pots. Folded to me in CO, I open to $35 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Button calls Villain in BB calls. Flop ($110) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet $75, button folds, Villain calls. Turn ($260) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] He checks, I bet $200, He check-raises the maximum for the spread limit game, making it $400 straight (its $200 to me to call). fyi - i think this guy would reraise JJ-AA preflop, so those are less likely. Whats the plan? (he can bet max of $200 on river). -g |

Re: Two Pair -- Live game
I think the limit forum could give better answers tbh, but I would just call down for $400 more or bet the $200 if checked to on a blank river.

Re: Two Pair -- Live game
3-bet your twoprrrr, JT or a spade draw with a jack are more likely hand here than a straight or set, given all of the actions so far. If he 4-bets, you can make a tight fold (assuming that stacks are deeper). If he calls, then valuebet clean rivers.
Unless you've seen him slowplay big hands on drawy boards before, in which case i'd just call his raise and probably his river bet (or fold to a bet on a nasty river, since I assume turning your hand into a bluff is ill-advised in a spread limit game with a big pot) (You should put stacks in here too unless theyre so deep as to be irrelevant.) |

Also, I think his range for cring this turn is a lot hands that beat us or weakish made hands that were trying to get to showdown on the flop but now bluffing the Jack (although he's unlikely to continue a bluff w/ this spread limit garbage ag;lkh) |

Re: Two Pair -- Live game
Yes, big bluffs in spread limit games are less likely. It was $200 to call in an $850 pot, so that skews his range somewhat tighter. People in this game were looser than they should be so if he was playing vs a "typical" opponent he should expect a call more often.
We both had another $800 behind so stacks didn't matter for this hand. |
