Generally, the tournament and side events were better managed than most casino tournaments. Poker Stars pretty much knows what it is doing, as online.

Side games pretty well set up. I played some 5/10 NLHE and PLO, both of which were very soft. They were running 50/100 NL, and sometimes 400/800 limit mixed games. SNGs had 50-30-20 payout structure like online. I hate that structure, and do much better at WTA, so avoided those. They also had some WTA single table satellites.

Side events had fast structure for major tournament. The early ones had to start fairly late in the day after tables and dealers became available from ME bustouts. I don’t mind the fast structure myself, as I do pretty well pushbotting and restealing.

Pastel chips for ME were awful. Kept asking “what is the bet?” and “how much do you have?”, as this was only way to tell.

Leather bag from Poker Stars was nice and good for taking back Poker Stars gear and souveniers. Also good overnight bag for trips to casinos. Promotional rubics cube fell apart if you tried to use it, and it wasn’t something you would want to put on your mantel piece.

Staying at Atlantis was a lot of fun, and kind of cool because most entrants wouldn’t stay somewhere like that with their own money. Complex is very nicely done, lively atmosphere, but not glitzy and not stuffy or formal. Enjoyed it more in May for Paradise Masters final table were they gave us huge expense account for Atlantis food and shops. Restaurants and rooms were all expensive, but not all of them were great. Kind of strange in that it is a fantasy land were locals serve the wealthy tourists, and it is different from the rest of the Bahamas.

I thought the biggest problem was the lack of suits. There were like 4 suits for the whole floor. Multiple times it took 15 minutes to pick up an empty seat card.

Also, they ran out of 1k chips, so we were playing with multiple color of 1k chips for awhile, and that was pretty homegameish.
