Default Aussie Millions $100k Buy In Speed Poker

I just arrived in Melbourne and apparently there is a $100k buy in tomorrow that is scheduled to be a one day speed poker event.

I'm excited to play in a high buy in event and all, but I can't say that I'm all that excited about having to make decisions in 30 seconds or less. I'm all for speeding up play, but I truly hope that speed poker doesn't catch on.

I'm planning on playing it, but unfortunately, since I only found out about it today, I didn't wire enough funds over to play so it looks like I'll be on the borrow this evening. Anyone down there have a spare hundo?

How many people do you think will play in this? Cant believe that many people will be putting up 100k. Didnt they have a 100k sng last year? Is this supposed to replace that event?

What ever happened to the $10,000,000 SNG they were going to have at some point? It was either in Australia or at the "poker dome." I specifically remember that Ivey had said he would play it or something...

Anyway, good luck Daniel, and eventhe 30 second time limit may seem restrictive, it's going to affect everyone else just as much, so use it to your advantage.

sounds like a fairly ridiculous format for such a high-buyin event. who are they trying to attract to play this, or is it solely made-for-tv high drama push-fold poker?

Well, I'm there, but I don't have 100k lying around, unfortunately. Maybe I can do something along the 2-3k order (awesome, I know, but I didn't bring enough cash and left too much money online).

Perhaps I'll introduce myself either way-- I saw you yesterday but I was in the middle of the tournament so I didn't say anything. Plus I'm a little shy around name players for a couple reasons, but I'm trying to become Kind of a Big Deal on the live circuit this year so I should start.
