laptop for poker and outdoor use

hi,

i want to get a notebook with a 17" display mainly for playing poker and using pokertracker,pahud.i play at the most 4 tables.

highest priority:a screen which is well useable outdoors when the sun is shining!!

long battery life would be nice too(at least about 4 hours)

i want to use windows xp,not ready to experiment with vista esp as i play on stars,party, and ipoker

budgetreferable somewhere between 1000 and 2000 $


on a side note:what kind of backgrounds do u find best for playing outside in the sunshine and using hud as well:dark ones or bright ones( screenshots or pics would be great!)

Doesn't exist, especially not at the extreme brightness levels you'll be setting for outdoor use.

thx for your input.

as far as i know there are glare and nonglare notebooks available,so i guess a nonglare would work fine outside.it is ,however, a pain to detect which notebooks have the first or the latter display,so i hoped to get some input from other users who love to play outside and have nonglare displays of whatever brand.

Matte finish instead of glossy screens have less reflection (I think).. not sure if this applies to natural light or artificial

I read recently that some new notebooks actually turn off the backlight when you are outdoors, and use a reflection of the natural light to light up the LCD, making battery life soar with very usable brightness outdoors.

My experience with the non-gloss screens is that they still don't work well in bright light.

It's possible, but I also doubt these are in OPs price range.

if i am not mistaken,the macbook pro has this features.
can anybody confirm this?

or do you know of any other models besides apple having this feature
