$220 HUSNG street by street
Here we don't know a lot about villain, this is only like the 8th hand of the match. We do know that he's not a great poker player because he pushed all in with the low end to a str8 when we showed agression in hand #3.
The major question is how to play this hand street by street, BUT specifically, what is the best line on the TURN? Also what about the river, given your action on the turn? Full Tilt Poker Game #----: $220 + $10 Heads Up Sit & Go (28039802), Table 1 - 20/40 - No Limit Hold'em - Seat 1: HERO (1,220) Seat 2: VILLAIN (1,780) VILLAIN posts the small blind of 20 HERO posts the big blind of 40 The button is in seat #2 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to HERO [Qd Th] VILLAIN calls 20 HERO checks *** FLOP *** [5d 4d Qc] HERO bets 60 VILLAIN calls 60 *** TURN *** [5d 4d Qc] [3d] HERO ? *** RIVER *** [5d 4d Qc 3d] [Jh] Given your decision on turn, what does Hero do on river across Villain's various turn actions? |

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
turn is close but i think you lose value by not betting this turn. bet 125ish and fold to a raise, if called check/call river most of the time

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
I lean towards check/calling the turn and probably river. Since villain is aggressive, he'll likely bet the turn with his made hands + air. If you bet, he can make it very difficult to play your hand.
If you check/call 120, the pot will be 400 on the river. I really don't know whether I'd call a 200 or 300 bet. Tough spot. I mean, you can lead the turn, but, I think you're asking for it to be taken away from you. |

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
I bet the turn and I don't think it's close. He could very easily peel one off for a flush or straight draw. I don't think he's raising a worse hand on the turn. If I take that line, I probably check/call most rivers.

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
With the Qd the turn is a clear c/c if he bets river is a c/c or c/f depending on feel and size.

Didn't notice the Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], checkcall seems good.

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
I think check/calling is weak. We have top pair and a big flush draw - are we really that scared that he's made his draw? And if he has, he can't know we have such a strong re-draw to beat him, and is unlikely to raise us out of it.
I lead for 1/2 the pot and instacall a min-raise. 3 x raise is marginal, I'd have to have seen how he's been playing and sizing his bets up to now. Push is an autofold. Check river. Check/call bets up to a certain size (again, depends on his bet sizing up to now) if he only called turn. Fold to continuing aggression if he raised turn. |

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
Hmm I'm 50/50 between c/c turn or just lead out with a 1/2 pot bet. I call a min re-raise and fold to a bigger re-raise.
I check river and call some bets (depending on opponent/size of bet). |

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
I wouldn't be afraid of just a flush (I would still bet), but a straight also came there. 3d is a real scare card. I prefer c/c turn and c/f or c/c river - depends on the reads and the size of the bet.

Re: $220 HUSNG street by street
If he's aggressive, I think it's c/c and c/c depending on bet size, especially since he's more likely to bluff than call something we beat. And bluffing doesn't make much sense here so I'd lean towards folding any sizable river bet.
Betting the turn seems bad given hand #3. He could raise big with a combo draw and you'd be in a bad spot. What's he limp in and call the turn with that we beat? Ad5x, K5, 56, 57, 46, 22? |
