the problem with extracting more value out of pocketpairs and Jx is we can't call very many bets at all because our hands sucks and we have top pair no kicker. inducing a bluff is good if you have a hand thats capable of calling a bet, but we really dont.

I doubt many people are going to make bets we can't call with a worse hand in a 3-way pot here much.

But still, checking the flop usually allows us to get to cheaper showdown than if we bet the flop here. I don't think betting the flop is a huge mistake or anything, but i see no reason for it on a board as dry as this, checking usually gets us more value from J-x and KK/QQ. Also, it doesn't seem like a situation i'd bluff/semi-bluff in very often, so for metagame reasons i wouldn't usually bet here.

flop i would bet just cause i'd bet this with any two pretty much. plus your hand becomes really defined once you check flop/call turn whatever.

river is a really easy fold in my opinion

i think villain could easily be blocking with J-x or KK/QQ, so i call with these odds.

what are you talking about? he never ever has kk-qq, and blocking with a jack makes 0 sense - what worse hands call? essentially he's not creative enough to use this bet with any hand other than hands that have you beat

I think c/b flop are both fine. River is a tough fold without a stronger read.

I mean river is a fold even though it's tough.
