Re: IS this really THAT bad of a call?
You played the hand fine. Nothing wrong with that call. It sure looks like a bluff. Villain played like a donk.

Re: IS this really THAT bad of a call?
Your call is completely standard - folding would be really bad.

Re: IS this really THAT bad of a call?
That's a great call.
Unless you know something more about the player that you didn't put in the post, like you have played 2000 hands against this player and never seen him raise before. There can be extenuating circumstances. But against an unknown player at this level, folding would have been the mistake. NH. |

Re: IS this really THAT bad of a call?
Good call. At that level villain could have easily had something like AK or QQ.

Re: IS this really THAT bad of a call?
It's a good call. He was just venting because of his bad luck. Don't expect to hear accurate poker advice at the table.
A limp-reraise is supposed to represent a lot of strength because it is very dangerous to do it if you don't have a strong hand. However, many NL $10 players don't know that, and don't know what a strong hand is. So, you'll see people limp-reraise with 33 or KQ. It takes effort to find a correct fold with KK preflop. At lower levels, players tend to overvalue hands like JJ and AK. At higher levels, players are a lot more aggressive, and raise and reraise with weaker hands, so people correctly value JJ and AK highly enough to push. In my opinion, there are many times to fold KK preflop with 100 BB stacks at NL $50 and NL $100, usually starting with a raise from early position in a full ring game, but not many at higher or lower stakes or when there is a raise in late position. Some people disagree vehemently, and will never fold KK preflop. I think that is a mistake, but not a very costly one as long as the stacks are not too deep. |

Re: IS this really THAT bad of a call?
Thanks everyone.Deacsoft, i will use the converter from now on. Anyway, Im glad you all told me this because i am unconfident in my cash game since i started out by playing tournys and realized that cash games are way different. You def have to play tighter and think more. villian WAS playing somewhat tight but i had only played~20 hands. Brag I finished the day up 30 bucks.

Re: IS this really THAT bad of a call?
You played the hand standard. Easy call. perfect time to extract some more tilt induced cash from villain and possibly the trash talker.
Keep notes on the people you play against. You got some information about how villain plays AA and made money out of it. |
