I hope CBS did this on purpose just to fuel the fire between the Colts and Pats.

Does CBS have the AFC championship game? That's BB genius if so

CBS definitely has the AFC championship game, but this was not intentional.

If you pay attention during live sporting events you'll realize that audio/technical problems happen all the time. Its pretty damn hard to run a 3 hour live broadcast without a few brief problems.

*sigh*

You are completely wrong. It was totally intentional and Tony Dungy eats babies.

So an official at CBS says it was a feeback loop from one of their own audio tapes....and supposedly people at the game heard it also.

One of these things is not like the other.

Either the CBS official is mistaken or the fans at the game who claim they heard it only somehow imagined they heard it after all the talk about it.

considering the quality of the broadcast yesterday, I'd say they're about even.

I really can't imagine CBS admitting fault unless they were pretty sure

"supposedly people at the game heard it also."

Name these people, and be aware that Noah's link does not preclude those observers "observing" the TV feed.

CBS also has no motivation to lie.

It is just one CBS official who has spoken so far and it's only been reported in one place.

Maybe that official was told by someone on the crew that this is how it COULD have happened and he misunderstood that to mean that it did happen.
Maybe the reporter quoted a source who claimed to be a CBS official but he really wasn't.

It was just one paragraph and doesn't really say much so I would like a little more than just that.
Also, did Kraft protest shortly after the game? Or did it come after everyone had already been talking about the play on TV?

Seems that some of the people there already thought that crowd-noise might be inflated somehow.

okay...that statement pretty much clinches it for me.

Guy in the truck probably turned up the volume on of the replay recording decks accidentally.
This would have only the FX sound on it also and not the sound of the announcers. Ever notice some of those real-time replays where you can hear the hit? The announcers voices are taken off of those replays.
So it could have come from one of those tape-decks.

Obviously I'm kind of fishing at a lot of these theories because my experience is really limited. I didn't even think of the replays that have only the crowd-noise on them.
But it seems like it could have come from one of those decks while it was recording and someone just flipped the wrong switch.

If this is the case then LOL at any of those fans who were at the game and claim they heard the skipping audio also.
