what limits do you play?
AFAIK, very few players at 20/40 and below post on 2p2. You might average one for every 3 tables you sit at.
I guess it depends on your area though.

edit: it's prob hard to go wrong with a solid selection from LOL Shirtaments

lol at the Rickroll shirt. Gold.

I usually just ask people if they're 2p2ers, but it does get a little awkward when they're like "2 What? What's that?" and I just have to be like "It's an internet thing -- nevermind"

Seriously, just ask. Contrary to popular opinion around here, publicly mentioning 2p2 isn't going to cause every fish who hears about it to suddenly go out and become a winning player.

[/ QUOTE ]
To be candid, I hadn't considered the "fish angle." I was more concerned that a fellow 2p2er wouldn't want to be identified as such during a game. Nor would I want to talk about it, or spawn a conversation about it, during the game. I was rather looking for some innocuos means of making like-minded new friends.

[/ QUOTE ]

lol its poker, you have no friends. And your right, some might consider it to be rude.

Its simple, if there is someone you would like to be friends with just say high away from the table. It doesn't matter if they are on 2+2 or not, if they aren't you might introduce them to a brand new world!

You open with, "Does the brown trout sleep in the closet?". The appropriate reply is, "Aye she does."

Wow. 2M unique visitors in six months. I had no idea, but am genuinely impressed. I suppose this speaks well for the overall popularity of the game, and, more specifically, for the robust offerings of 2+2.

I am curious, however, how you derived the 70% of mid-stakes players visit the site. Does that include both B&M and internet. How do you measure/conclude this? (Not asking for trade secrets, btw.)

Finally, IMHO, the 2+2 community will always be "special", NYT analogy notwithstanding.

Its an estimate based on non-scientific measurements. Last year I went to play at the commerce, put my name (TT) on the 20 and 40 lists. I sat in the 20 game, floor came up and said TT (he reads 2+2 and knew who I was) your 40 game is ready. Guy to my right says "TT? From 2+2? Is that you?" Guy to my left says "TT? Your famous!". I racked up and stopped using my nickname on the board due to total humiliation

i guess I might be one of the better people to judge this just because my nickname is so easy to remember, but honestly if I sit down at a game and say "high I am TT from 2+2" 2/3 or greater of the table would know what 2+2 is guarenteed.

I will try to start a conversation about Poker on TV and later ask if which net sites they play on. After some chat about those two subjects I ask if the read any of the forums. Frequently they have no idea what I am talking about. I have never met anyone who said they were a regular poster.
