Default Pushing Early Can Be Back Tested

Any robotic pushing strategy...
Can easily be back tested by extracting PT data.

Just started playing SNGs a month ago maybe one/day...
But I'm data mining the 33s...
And right now I have 1000 $33s from the last month.

On average you get 4.5 starting hands/player/tournament...
So I have 45,000 starting hands.
(Starting hand = Finishing hand)

Assume 30% at low blind levels...
And 20-25% of those are suitable HU or all-in matchups.

So per 1000 tourneys...
You can have roughly 3000 "situations"...
To back test push strategies very specific to 33s.
(I wouldn't expend any energy analyzing the 11s).

I'm very busy running my business...
But within about a month...
I'll double my 33 data to 2000 recent tournies...
And I'll write a VB program that extracts...
The roughly 6000 "early push" test situations...
Which is enough for a start.

I'm just guesstimating right now.

I'll pm you some results of this analysis when I'm done...
Because I very much appreciate you posting this.

Late pos, L2, limp in with AJ... so far so good.

Flop is A-rag-rag, planning to push BUT

Bet and raise before.

FOLD. Someone has Ace-rag and you're on a 3-outer.

Apologies if this is redundant.

Started in like Mid April. Of course I took a 2-3 week vacation and had days where I didn't get the full 32 in. For instance this month I have only about 400 due to being in Vegas+Philly and such. Now I have a good laptop so that problem shuoldnt occur again.

he can't do that you see, because it's a guide to beating the party games, not a guide to playing poker.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm pretty sure he CAN do it, and the way I read it, it's intended as a guide to beating $10+1 SNG games, which are held at many sites... all but two of them way more playable in general than Party.

IMHO, of course.

Nice work Adanthar, only thing is that when it comes to the bubble formulas and what not, if someone is smart enough to figure this out / remember it all during real time, they surely have the brains to very quickly kill the 11s without an idiot proof system. Nice work though IMO. Two quick points:

1) Regarding bubble play, you wrote:

[/ QUOTE ]

My intuition tells me that this needs to be weighted more heavily in your point system. One of the easiest ways to get ITM (esp. in the lower levels) during bubble time is to avoid those opponents who have already shown aggression. Only adding 4 points seems like it will get the user of this system involved in too many bubble confrontations.

2) Regarding open pushing with AA early. I did it only once in over 1500 games on the 11s and was called by KJs. So I really don't think it's bad. But so many bad players like to mini-raise after several limpers that if I get aces early (on an 11) I will often limp, re-raise. It's pretty easy to tell when I will be able to do this, since often there is "that guy" who will constantly raise on level 1 (thinks he's Gus Hansen or something). Would it overcomplicate it to write that if over 2/3 of the pots on level 1 have been raised, you should attempt a limp, re-raise all-in with aces on level 1? Don't want to overcomplicate your system, but when you see this pattern (which happens a LOT on the 11s) you can often double or triple up with aces. Very few players down there understand the strength of your hand (or are too stubborn to fold after your re-raise) that this is incredibly profitable.

Looks good but just one question - wtf is a "monotone" flop?

A flop with three cards of the same suit.

Oh. At the risk of sounding like a nit, wouldn't "monochrome flop" be a better term for this phenomenon?
