A Right Time to Kill?

This topic got mentioned in another thread, but rather than hijacking it I'm interested to see peoples responses here.

Assume someone raped or murdered one of your children or a parent. Would you really put your faith in the justice system as some posters had suggested? Or would you hunt that [censored] down and slowly kill him? I already know my answer.

Assume if you opt to kill him, he would be in the same room with you. And if you chose to see him imprisoned, you'd never set foot in the same room with him alone.

a much better question is something thats harder to answer like:

1. Your best friends son rapes your daughter (they were friends in the past)

I don't care who they are. If someone were to rape my daughter, I'd find them. And if I couldn't in time, if they ever saw daylight again they'd dissappear.

My first reaction would be to kill him, obviously. However, it doesn't change the past and it won't undo the damage - after critically thinking about it, I might be able to hold off.

However, I doubt it. I'd probably kill him.
