NEVER EVER fold here. NEVER EVER, especially against solid tag. TAG will raise his TPTK to GET INFORMATION. he raises it so he has set, tptk or 2 pairs. You bet 2 of those 3 so Im still pretty confident with my hand. I never fold set vs solid tags, they overplay tptk+overpairs SOOO OFTEN, just let him do the betting or put him all-in now. once again NEVER EVER EVER fold this

I'm def not saying this is a fold, I'm saying that with a super-solid read it's possible to lay it down..

Its not possible with a super solid read to fold. Its retarded to fold at any point. You have dead money in the pot already, you have to get your cash in. I agree that a TAG will not 3 bet for information, thats a little ridiculous, it could easily be two pair. Basically, theres only two legitimate hands that beat you, JT and 99. A TAG would have 3 bet QQ pf. If he has JT the money in the pot should make up enough to give you odds to draw to your full. So the only real disastrous hand is 99 here. PUSH.

i agree, if i was hero i'd push here and risk running into 99, which is the only hand that i would regard likely to beat me here.

but another question: how would you play that hand if you were BB and held 99 or JT?
i wouldn't re-raise with a straight on a board without a flush draw or likely higher straight draw.
i'd leave the betting and the aggression to the initial raiser so he doesn't fold TPTK or two-pair.
Is that sensible play in the long run?

All of a sudden its likely that BB is holding aces or kings? He flat calls a raise from utg and two callers with position on him.. This would never happen with the description we have of villain..
