it's actually a pretty common.
the tradeoff between more enjoyable job in a much better environment that will pay much less and have less of a future versus killing yourself and hating your life in finance. i'm personally looking into different avenues of finance as I actually enjoy it, but don't want to give away years of my life. |

For me it is not even a question. $37k isn't enough money to live on. Unless you are independently wealthy obvious choice is #1.

More $ and perceived prestige brings more hot 'n easy floozies to hustle. Small cash and 'interesting job' bring fat emo chicks, who are believe it or not, hard to bang. Come now, the money, job, is just a means to an 'end' right?

Keep in mind the speech writing job isnt as secure as you think/hope it is. If your boss loses the election, your position is gone over night. If the next elections happen to be bad for whatever party you are in your job AND your potential backup jobs are gone too.
Also, if you want to end up in DC you are better off starting in DC. |
