I need help writing a letter to IGC in support of dealers keeping tips
I am writing a letter to the Indiana Gaming Commission in suppoirt of poker dealers keeping their own tips. I know why I like the dealers to keep their own tips but I want to explain why it is good for the game, the casino and the players.
If you are an Indiana resident, pleae write a letter also. Suite 950, South Tower 115 W. Washington Street Indianapolis, IN 46204-3408 |

Whatever letter you write, someone needs to insert "foxwoods" in it and send it to them too.

Mention that Atlantic City started out as "pool", later changed to "keep your own".
The customers loved the better service. The quicker pace increased casino revenue, which is good for the state. Happy customers are also a good thing to have, when you want to increase revenue. EDIT: Are you sure this is a Gaming Regulation? In my career, I have heard many casinos defend many irrational policies with the phoney-baloney two-word explanation, "Gaming Regulation". |

Re: I need help writing a letter to IGC in support of dealers keeping tips
How about in the interest of fairness, and because a tip could be seen as a bribe, suggest the Gaming Comission not allow tips to any casino employees.
Since they want to keep a squeeky clean image, there would be no chance of someone tipping to get a favorable ruling, or an employee rigging a roulette wheel in a big tippers favor, etc. This would also force the high profit casinos to pay their employees a living wage, instead of relying on the customers and their tips to do it for them. I would think what happens to tips is up to the Gaming Commission, the Employee, the Casino, and/or the Employee Union. And if I tip or not, that is up to the customer. |

ADD FOXWOODS. I [censored] hate pooling more than I hate the worst thing ever. |

I would recommend waiting until after the Belterra Poker Room has their hearing on Thursday. If the IGC rules against them, then we can start a letter writing campaign. They have the most to gain and can make the best argument anyway.

Why should we wait until the door is closed to start knocking? I think sticking our foot in the door while it is still open is a much better idea.
I put the letter in the mail this morning, they probably won't get it in time anyway. |

Re: I need help writing a letter to IGC in support of dealers keeping
I'd be interested in reading your letter if you cared to post it.
I don't make it to the boats nearly often enough, so I guess I'm not so inclined to write one myself. I really wish we had a boat closer to Indy. Builing a cardroom downtown (on the White River, perhaps?) would be a cashcow for the city/state in terms of taxes; especially with all the conventions. I'd love to be a part of getting one started, but politically I don't see how you'd be able to fight the existing boats. |
