Are we having separate vet and rookie drafts for the initial draft, or just one big draft?

Separate. Rookie draft first, then the regular draft, which will also include any undrafted rookies.

Money from kidcolin is in as well. I've nearly lost track, but I think this puts me on the hook for six entries:

The whole Boston crew (EpiPen, GKA, kidcolin -- holla)
sergsz
freehat
And, of course, my own.

Great. Also, Matt, Alex, Assani and myself are accounted for. So that's 10/16 already. Getting psyched.

Seth indicated that he had dough from Thayer and rwesty. So that's 13.

So Needle, Primetime and Barbier (Ace) left.

Barbier is easy, he's in multiple leagues with me, so I can easily hunt him down.

To amplify Clark's answer:

We'll be having one big draft. The first two rounds of that draft are the 2007 Rookie Draft (meaning each N2 team will draft two rookies from this past year's NBA draft class). The next 17 rounds of the Inaugural Draft will be the big draft of all veterans (and the odd undrafted rookie).

Teams will be left with 19 players:
-12 active roster / 4 reserve roster (interchangeable on a weekly basis)
-3 developmental roster (1st/2nd year NBA players)

Teams so desiring can release players up until Opening Day to get under the cap, as teams will all start with between $70M and $78M in salary (depending on where you draft) against a $66M cap.

Key numbers:

2007/08 Salary Cap figures
Salary cap: $66.0M
Max: $16.5M
Vet min: $1.2M
Rookie min: $0.7M

So does this mean that if have a serpentine draft structure, the person with the #1 rookie pick with also have the #1 vet pick? Can we reverse the order of the vet draft vs. the rook draft?

The first pick in the rookie draft goes last in the regular draft. There are other balancing mechanisms in place as well, related to salaries and contract structure of the draft.

I'm guessing Alex will include the detail in his email later today.
