Default How to discipline myself at the poker table?

How do i do it i cant seem to discipline myself when it comes to poker meaning telling myself im beat but calling anyway. Had pocket queens the other day and raised and about 5 limpers im in the sb with $10 in a 0.5/0.10 game and raise it to .70 i get one caller from a guy i know is a total idiot flop comes ace high and he moves all in I told myself im beat but somehow ended up calling. You would think that hitting a fold button would be a little simpler.
How do i Stop myself doing this? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

I think this problem largely comes from thinking something like, "I had the best hand preflop, how could he be beating me now?" Because when I tilt and spew, it goes something like that.

One answer I use is to almost never say, "I'm way ahead," when you haven't even seen a flop. You have QQ. Good, play that hard, but be very cognizant that hand values are fluid. Once you see an A-high flop, don't think "I have QQ," think, "I have second pair."

Second pair isn't a hand you want to go to war with, right? So don't! And it's easy to see that you shouldn't when you're honest about where your hand stands.

Yup, did something similar a couple of days ago; had JJ preflop, raised, got 1 caller. Flop comes Kxx and there I was thinking 'ok if he has a K I'll eat my hat'. Lost the pot to AK, but I don't have a hat so I raged instead.

Then again I was playing at around 2am when I was dead tired, but thought what the heck I'll have a quick game. Never again ._.

Yeah, every time it's, "There's no WAY he has a _____!"

He does. Seriously.
