Kind of a sick spot, I would call though, but wouldn't be happy about it.

really? i'd feel fairly good about getting it in here. when a non-short fish posts oop there's like a battle between the regs for the extra bit of dead money, so hero's range is prob wider than his usual MP open and the villain's range may well (at least should) be wider than his usual 3-betting range for those positions, i think you see 6-x and one pairs quite alot here (as well as AK/AQ etc), hands that have reasonable showdown equity but that he wants to maximise fold equity with.

I doubt I'd be able to fold this, but I agree with aislephive that against this particular villain, I definitely wouldn't be happy

I don't think he does that with AA or KK. I mean why so much?

I call

I don\'t agree with saying that he should be happy to call because he was planning to CRAI...CRAI would be profitable against villain\'s preflop range, but when villain shoves, his range shifts pretty dramatically imo...

Against most players I think this is an insta-call...against the nitty description you\'ve given I\'m not so sure...

Imagine you\'re a nit...are you going to 3-bet and put in all your chips on the flop after being called when you have 10-10? J-J? my experience is no...On the other hand, you can understand it with AA or KK. You called his 3-bet preflop, so on this flop, either you have high cards which won\'t pay him off anyway, or you have an overpair. So he makes a suspicious overbet and prays for a call.

You\'re getting a little worse than 1.5:1 on this call...you need to be winning about 40% of the time to break even...I think it\'s really close...this is definitely a hand I have no problem laying down against some nits, against an aggressive player it\'s a clear call...it\'s basically a question of whether this nit would make this play with \"6-x or AK\"...if so, clear call. Otherwise you can fold.

I think given your description of villain, you\'re pretty much indifferent to calling or folding...both options should be close to 0 EV...in those kinds of situations, i\'d rather save myself the variance, fold, and wait for a better opportunity.

I think he shows up with 99/1010/JJ more often as he doesn't want to be outplayed on further streets. I'v seen this done before.

Do you think he 3-bets preflop w/ 99/1010?
