I sort of agree, especially with Lee (he led the league in Berri's Wins Produced Per 48 which is damn impressive), but people often fail to realize that Lee and Balkman wouldn't be as efficient if they played bigger minutes.

agreed

i seem to recall a really good thread about iverson, because people love to hate him (about how overrated he is) but due to insane mins or whatnot he actually doesnt really do that much worse with all the extra mins or whatnot. It was pretty impressive when I read it, wonder if that rings a bell to anyone.

[/ QUOTE ]

I recall that too, and I know I was firmly in the pro-AI camp. I don't want to hijack, but I've been reconsidering my position due to the writings of Dave Berri. I need to read up more about his stats, but I'm becoming convinced that his Wins Produced stat is more valuable than Hollinger's PER.

[/ QUOTE ]

i dont want to hijack either, but im with you kc. also, quickly about AI, it def. turned my opinion around about him.

What's wrong with Nate? He was the summer league MVP, actually shot a solid % from 3 (something the Knicks sorely need) and brings tons of energy. As he matures he'll cut down on his TOs and become a decent distributer.

Word about Nichols. His shooting touch is really gonna help the offense if he gets any kind of minutes.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nate was the summer league MVP because he basically had free reign to do whatever the hell he pleased. They were showcasing him for a trade essentially I believe. Not like there's any defense played in the VSL anyway. He has so much passion but he's also just a giant headcase and I'm not sure he'll ever learn to control himself.

So Rubeskies, still feeling confident after the Celtics beat the Knicks last night by 50 points?

anyone have a link to that AI thread? would love to read it.

also, I think the knicks do have a shot this year. huge depth in the front court and maybe they can limp along with that backcourt

depth in the frontcourt?

the knicks are going to get KILLED in transition with curry and randolph taking ~12 seconds to wobble end to end.

KG was getting out for easy assists and buckets last night, and same thing will happen against every team with a decently mobile big man.

lee needs to start and play 35 minutes plus. he was (like pretty much always) the best player for the knicks last night.

cliff notes: isiah is a racist.

few things....

1. jared jordan should be starting point. kid is a true point guard.
2. lee NEEDS to start. having your best player come off the bench is stupid.
3. new york area fast food joints need to be instructed by isiah to stop serving z-bo and fat eddy.

also...chuckers like nate, steph, crawful, and q-rich need to be benched/bought out/not play.

i've said this before, but if you are going to be a one dimensional scorer, you better be really good at it, like kevin martin or michael redd. the aforementioned guys shoot with low percentages and are terrible on defense.

no. it's a shame, because i truly believe that he one of the top three low post scorers in the league.

if he were to get in shape, and started to give a crap about defense/rebounding, he could be an absolute force.

but i guess he's content to get 20 points, 4 rebounds, and be an average nba player.
