Honestly...standard gun.

1 in 6 for 10 mill.

at first i thought it would be a high number for myself. but now that i think about it i would definitely do it with 6 chambers. for me, i really don't see how it couldn't be the right decision.

Also, i think i am happier than the average joe about life in general.

I actually think i'll have a more interesting life NOT being *totally* financially secure. Having an infinite bank account will take one of the joys of life out.

And coupling that with the avoidable risk, however small, to my life means i wouldn't take the gamble.

Although, if i was being rational about it, i suppose i'd set the odds somewhere close to the odds of dying on a trans-continental flight, since I'm willing to risk that for no financial gain.

i did and i very much disagree with your position. different people have different tastes, preferences, and utility curves.your statement is probably true for you but its not at all the case for me

edit: the wording of the OP suggests you are getting paid 10 million dollars to pull the trigger. at least thats how i interpreted it. which is a pretty important factor to me. if 10 million was the prize for not getting shot then i might have to up it into the neighborhood of 8 chambers

Is there any way I can just point this gun at someone else and pull the trigger? I really like my life a lot....

That said, I would probably go at like...1 in...40.

40 Sounds about right...I mean there is SOME %age that says I'll be dead in the next year anyway right? So the # of chambers would correspond to well under that number....

Anyone who is saying 500, 1000, 5000 + chambers is not forgetting reality. I'm sure we all do things far more dangerous than a 1 in 5000 chance of killing ourselves. Ever weaved through traffic at 100+mph? Ever forget to wear your seat belt?

The thing is, if we really thought of our lives as "pricesless" or worth Billions, than our society would be totally different: speed limit at 5mph, helmts + body gear at all times, eating only the most nutrious possible meals to live as long as possible.... etc, etc, etc.

So before you say you need 289374237 chambers, just think about how you live your life, do you really live like you value it as priceless? I bet not.

I'd go for 1-25.
