How do you play the flop and turn against a good opponent?

Opponent is 2+2, capable of mixing up play. I had just reraised him in a hand where I had top and bottom sets on a drawy board and he folded.

On the turn, I'd bet 60 and fold to a check raise. I wouldn't mind checking and deciding on the river, but I think betting is better for meta-game and blah blah being deepstacked in position and stuff.

I think just calling the flop raise is good.

although i like to make smaller than pot sized bets on the flop whether i hit or not i think i would pot here as it makes a few of your later decisions easier. as played i prefer your call to a repot as his reraise is small enough to put you to the test on later streets if you repot and he flat calls

turn i check behind - if he has checked a flush your hand is fairly well concealed so that if the board pairs he will pay you a 1/3ish sized value bet on the river. i think for him to be repotting on the flop with this board he is more likely to have a combination draw rather than just an inside wrap, and he will know you dont have the implied odds to call if you bet and he re raises

i think its unlikely he has a set, knowing my luck he would hold K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and he would be able to bluff me out on the river [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I agree with this.

Betting the turn isn't good because you tend only to get called when you're beat. There's an argument that it's better not to give free cards where he could complete a broadway straight, but he probably won't bet that on the river anyway with the flush on board, and if he has a set and the river pairs the board, you stand to win a very big pot.

I can't fathom not 3-betting the flop. As played I check behind the turn, but I haven't played with iggy so a bet may be better.

yeah not 3betting this flop is really really dumb. I'm going to be 3betting here with alot of semi-bluff hands (any decent draw) and I'm for sure 3betting aces. You're basically trying to trap a small small percentage of his range (TT) at the risk of giving the entire rest of his range a free card that could kill you.

The thing is that by 3 betting, the way he was playing, I would say my fold equity is very huge. do people really want to win the hand right here with the stacks this size? I had no history with him that he was going to play a draw for all his chips. And for all I know, he would read correctly that a 3 bet means aces here. I do know he is smart enough then to not give me action with a bad draw.

So my thinking on the flop was 50/50 3 bet. If I had gone with raise, it would have been 50/50 two-thirds/full pot raise.

Also, aren't I MORE likely to get him to commit with a raise if he has TT?

In my mind, the way the line goes on different flops:

If any draw hits, I call a turn bet.
If a draw hits and he checks, I'm pretty much forced to check otherwise I am giving away my position.
If no draw hit or board pairs, I either bet out or raise.
