Happy birthday.
The only reason I can see for doing anything other than folding is that you posted it. |

Easy turn fold. I can't see how anything else would be correct in this spot.

[ QUOTE ] Fold. I just don;t see a raise working here with an extra player in the pot and you can't possible be winning -- a thinking TAG knows your range is tight UTG and doesn't seem to care. Pre-flop is fine and post-flop is fine. [/ QUOTE ] Actually the extra player is precisely why it works better. It gives more credence to a legit hand. The only fear for me is that BB may have hit his A with his draw. Garland [/ QUOTE ] Both of these thoughts were in my head at the time. I folded after thinking for about 10 seconds. The river was an offsuit K and it went check-check. 88 is good for SB. I think the size of the pot and the presence of the passive draw-happy third player make raising (w/ the intention of it being the last bet in unless I hit my J) compelling. On the other hand, I've been raising at every opportunity and he doesn't seem to care. |

He had an easy fold pre-flop to your UTG raise. Anyhow, the point of this response is, you might as well through your hand away after 3 seconds of thinking because by that time it's over. If you intend to make certain plays, you have to plan ahead what you want to do when certain cards come out. So when that Ace comes out and the action is on you..."BAM!" you gotta be raising in tempo, not contemplating a move for 10 seconds. You're just asking to be looked up by KK or QQ at that point. [ QUOTE ] Seems like a thinking TAG, and he seems to respect my play, too. [/ QUOTE ] I think you can change your read on him now. Garland |

Folding the turn is correct, it doesn't matter that you were forced out by an underpair. This is a good example of a time where results cloud your thinking after the fact IMO. |
