Default $5.50 PokerStars Middle pair facing 4-to-1 River Bet

I flop middle pair on an Ace high rainbow unraised flop.
BB is passive and got his big stack from an all-in confrontation when he flopped a house against someone's trips.
I have maybe raised once or twice to this point and mostly been limping with suited connectors. And have won a couple of show downs and lost 1 or 2. Won a couple of uncontested pots too.

Poker Stars, $5 + $0.50 NL Hold'em Tournament, 50/100 Blinds, 5 Players

If you are going to bet the flop I bet it a bit harder against two opps, say 250 or so to go.

As played, definitely check behind on the turn, after your flop bet is called you definitely don't want to be putting any more chips in unless you hit another spade.

On the river, cry and fold because you only have 1100 chips behind and given the action on the flop and turn you are very likely beat.

Playing this hand is pretty awful, you should never be limping here as the first one to open the pot, relatively high blinds in relation to our stack and we have a pretty marginal hand. That being said, if you are going to play it, bet flop harder and take free riv as villain looks like he'll call another turn bet.

Ah yes, I missed preflop in my post - definite fold preflop.

here u only had 16BB, you barely had the luxury to maneuver here (>20BB), and the BB is the CL, I think its standard for me to say, if you wanna mess around with the CL, do it with a real hand..
if u were the CL, you still wanna raise PF...
his call on your flop bet = your done with the hand...
shut it down...
anyway, if I'm in your post I'm folding PF regardless

Fold preflop. Why get involved? Your hand's rubbish and you're liable to get tangled up in a pot that you are never winning.

I'm not the nittiest but I think that if you flop middle pair against three players with suited connectors, you've effectively missed the flop.

When he calls the flop, I can't see how he doesn't have an ace. Calling with 43 or 53 is too much even for the worst villains. Calling with 2x even worse. If he has an 8, it probably beats yours. I wouldn't bet again, and I instafold the river. If you somehow did call, and beat him, how come you never noticed he was completely retarded?
