Automatic Card Shuffler Question
Hey Guys,
I was just wondering what brand/type of card shufflers are out there for Home Game use. Having an automatic shuffler would be great so it wouldn't slow down the action. Any help on this? All I can find on the internet are cheap $20 plastic ones or really expensive old school shufflers. Thanks! |

Re: Automatic Card Shuffler Question
All I know is that I they make ALOT of annoying noise, but they were pretty handy.

Re: Automatic Card Shuffler Question
Don't bother. Practice and learn to shuffle better. The only decent one I've seen is one at Sharper Image. At first blush, it looks like all the other dinky plastic ones, but I suppose they used a better rubber for the wheels that grab the cards because it actually shuffles right with my Copags. The catch with it is that you still have to separate the cards and put them in the chutes several times to get good randomization. That makes it slower and noisier than a reasonably competent human.

Re: Automatic Card Shuffler Question
The best, least expensive, most convenient, least noisy, and by far fastest card shuffler I've ever used has been attached to my wrists since my earliest memory.

He has a while to act and he will be dealing the hand after this one, so he can shuffle. |

Re: Automatic Card Shuffler Question
I have the dealer shuffle his own cards that were dealt, that way, the new dealer does not shuffle for his deal. Also, the SB cuts for the dealer. The dealer only deals, never shuffles his own cards prior to dealing.

Re: Automatic Card Shuffler Question
Basically... they suck.
The only good card shufflers are the ones that you see in a casino and I believe that all of those are leased to the casinos. Even if you had the money to spend on them, it would cost thousands of dollars and would be +EV to hire a dealer instead. As someone else pointed out -- just get two decks and have someone shuffle while you are playing a hand... That helps move things along pretty well. |

I can shuffle well... and fairly fast .... but I hate being the dealer for 3-4 hours. |

Re: Automatic Card Shuffler Question
I've often thought that just rotating this job was a good idea for home gomes of some seriousness. Do what we dealers do: Deal for about 30-60 minutes, then it's someone else's turn. Have a rotation set up pre-game.
