lol. its a huge difference from 2/4 even.

1/2 and 2/4 you can pretty much mindlessly multitable(least I can) and win fine. 5/10 you have specific players you have to adjust for. and not just in pots with them, you have to adjust because they have yet to act in the hand. you have some good regs who will completely outplay you at times(I'd like to think I do this sometimes).

also regs @ 5/10 do not pay off like almost all the regs @ 2/4 will.

If you play pretty agrro some players will play back, but unlike at lower limits they won't take it to a spewing level. they will try to match/better your agression, without getting it in bad. basically waiting for good times to 3bet or 4 bet.

fish are fish, and are what make the game profitable at any level.

My only notable hand against him he raised AQ, I flopped a set on him on a same suited flop after calling a raise in position with a middle pair. He c-bets, I raise, he shoves with the flush draw and hits. Pretty much an instashove drawing thin.

foldtocash and JPhil007, leave me alone, lets just play the fish. im not trying to push anyone around. you guys are excellent players and if we play a bunch of tough hands against eachother no one gets anywhere. We all just pay the extra rake and experience double the variance. (which made for a nice +20k weekend partly because i stacked u2_good4me(who should be in list of top 600nl+ FR players) three times in an hour )

Have you ever seen the way live pros in a casino only play against the noobs? think about it. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

So Ace I'm getting that the jump from 2/4 to 5/10 is the biggest, which isn't surprising. Would you say that the jumps from .5/1 to 1/2 and 1/2 to 2/4 are more gradual and not as drastic? I am about to move up to 100NL FR and while I expect a little more 3betting, blind defense, people who are positionally aware, etc, I want to continue to move up in the next 6 months and am just wondering where the biggest "jump" in competition will be. (I have no plans to go as high as 5/10, 2/4 is cool by me)

Over the past 6 months i moved from .5/1 to 5/10 and have found that each jump was very difficult. I played each level for about 75k hands to be sure i was a winner at that level before i moved up.

Each time i moved up, the first 5k hands were difficult b/c i had no reads and always thought i was getting bluffed when i wasnt. I decided that i would allow a 10 buyin downswing at any level before i would move back down and fortunately that never happened although i was down 3 buyins at different levels a couple times.

Just remember at each new level that at every level you play before 5/10, most of the players are losing players (otherwise they would be playing at a higher level). So if you think well, you will get the hang of it and beat them eventually.

I've played a lot of 6-max so 3-5 buyin swings were the norm there.
