If you dont believe in set mining this is for you.
Not only did they both pay off huge, but they occurred at the same time. Set mining = orgasm when you run into these spots.

Re: If you dont believe in set mining this is for you.
Don't like your c/c of the flop, even though it worked out this time. If you're going to check, you need to check raise him. Bottom full is more vulnerable than you might think...from experience

set mining a normal raise preflop is standard and expected... the post earlier today was about calling 3 bets to set mine

Re: If you dont believe in set mining this is for you.
I would normally agree with you 100%, but he was heating from the hand previous. I look at it this way, If I'm happy to get it in on the flop then the outcome will be the same if I slow play a litte every once and while. Since I put him on an over pair, it also allows me to get away from the hand if by some off chance another 9 comes out. He's not folding an overpair here on the flop, so i can't protect my hand. I figure higher value in slow playing here, plus opportunity to save money if my hand turns ugly.

who doesn't believe in set mining? Preflop action will determine if it is profitable enough.

No one disagrees with either of these preflop including those who don't necessarily set mine much. Basically, worthless post.
