Default NL50: KK dry board...V calls down & shoves river. i do like it.. (not)

Villain is loose, over 120 hands like 42/9 with AF 1.5.
I started to not like the hand on flop with that dry board.
Are there any hands we beat to make a call + EV?

First, I like to bet a little bit more on the flop. I probably also lead the river for 1/2 pot and see what villain does. If you prefer to check, you have to be prepared to call. You're getting ~2:1 on your call, so I probably make the crying call. It certainly looks like villain has a 7, but I don't know why he pushes the river if he wants a call from you. I call this and expect to sometimes see 44, 88, 99, or a busted draw (like 34s), or something random like A5s.

Basically everything thing85 said. If I had to add anything, it's that you should make your postflop bets bigger. I bet 4 on flop, which would result in a 13.50 pot. I then bet about 11 on turn, which would leave the river with a $36 pot, and villain with like $25. I then put him in on river.

As played, I call.

Check turn, see what he does.

Or bet turn, check/fold river.
or Bet turn, bet river $10.

I dont like bet turn/check call.

I make a small bet of around 10, if he has a worse hand many such as T's and lower PP's, maybe even a five will look you up and anything that shoves over will almost definitely have you beat seeing as villain has an AF of 1.5. Check calling would be OK if you somehow knew that the villain isn't going to bet big because that way you'd get value from when he bluffs because you'd have better odds to call. However, you can't read his mind so bet/fold here is the right play imo.
