Default Recommend to me some PC games

Alright,

So, Ive been pretty out of the gaming loop for about 4 years or so (Ive played through maybe 5-10 during that time period), but Im about to graduate, and I feel Ill have some more free time on my hands, and have recently had an urge to get back into it.

I've always been more of a PC gamer than a console player, so lets just stick to that arena.

So, Ill list off some of my old favourites, and would appreciate any recommendations:

- Grim Fandango
- Half Life (1/2)
- Baldur's Gate 2
- Diablo (1/2)
- Sim City series
- No one lives forever series
- Monkey Island series
- KOTOR
- Deus Ex
- Max Payne

Battlefield 2142 is supposedly awesome... I've never actually played it, but have a bunch of hardcore PC gamer friends who swear by it.

Back when I was a hardcore PC gamer, Battlefield 1942 was the shiz and took up pretty much all of my time, so I wouldn't doubt that BF2142 is a good game.

It's been out a while too so I think you can get it pretty cheap. I'm consistently pressured by my friends to buy it, but am afraid it will consume my life just as 1942 did.

there is seriously NOTHING worth buying right now in terms of PC games, let alone downloading. it's kind of sad. FEAR is the only one i would even consider DL'ing right now. maybe Command & Conquer 3 but it's like 10 gigs. actually gonna go dl KOTOR right now. one of my favorite games ever now that i realize it was SW: Jedi Academy on PC

If your PC can handle it, Supreme Commander is probably worth checking out. Supposed to be quite good, as is C&C3, from what I gather.

Though on the hole, lately, I'm kind in agreement with drexah. Not too much has come out for PC in the last while that has caught my eye. I might take a look at the LOTR mmorpg, but that's just a maybe. Nothing seems that special these days.

I haven't tried it myself, but Company of Heroes got good reviews.
