large transfer on Stars (not a P2P request)
Is there anything tricky about making a large ($10K+) transfer to a friend's account on Stars? I heard that I need to send them an email confirming the request, but is that it? Is there something I need to do to make sure it goes smoothly?

Re: large transfer on Stars (not a P2P request)
The largest amount I have sent is $5000... I just had to confirm the amount in an e-mail a recieved just after I did the transfere... The whole thing took about 7-8 minutes.. But with $10K+ i dont know... Guess its pretty much the same..

Both parties might want to be near their phones.

like doc said they just send you an email after you request the transfer, confirming that you indeed wanted to send the money and not someone else on your account.

Is this transfer confirmation stuff new?
I just had someone try to send me 3K and he says they want to call him to confirm. Not a problem, i guess, and it's nice to have this safeguard in place, but i've sent/received transfers of 7K or more and never had to 'confirm' like this. have they just started doing it? |

Re: large transfer on Stars (not a P2P request)
If you are a highstake player you can send whatever amount you want... but when a low/medium player suddenly make a buddytransfere of $10K+ pokerstars get a little suspecious and want to confirm that you really did requested it...

[/ QUOTE ] It's not really new, we did that stuff when I worked at PokerStars. If you play highstakes poker enough, you get your account VIP'd or Transfer Approved where there are no waiting periods. |
