Default Neo-Conservatism and its Roots in Warfare State Propaganda

This is an excellent article, written some ten years ago, that chronicles the rise of neo-conservatism and its roots in CIA-backed pseudo-journalism and pro-warfare state federal government propaganda.

The most chilling part is the last few paragraphs, which documents the implosion of foreign interventionism in the late 1990s. Does anyone around here actually remember the foreign policy platform that George W. Bush actually ran and won the presidency on?

How convenient for the neo-conservatives that 9/11 came along and overnight galvanized the public for the blood of squalid brown-skinned third world foreigners.

Glad I cleaned my screen and saw the wink before "unbiased" made me vomit.

I understand why you would not like anything from media matters or moveon, but I don't know anything about information clearing house. What's so bad about them?

I don't know if you could have said anything more meaningless. All of the mediums in which we try and find information are biased, there really is nothing one can do to avoid that.

If you want to reply to this feel free, but I don't want to derail boro's thread anymore than I already have so I will likely not respond.

Borodog,

How valid do you think the facts are that this article cites? I would have enjoyed this article a lot more if they had cited things throughout the article.

That being said articles of this nature, copyrighted in 1997 and earlier, are sadly losing their impact when I read them. In retrospect it seems rather obvious the intentions of the powers that be. It is obvious that Bush II's platform was an out and out lie from the begining, sadly we all fell for it.

I think that it is very relevant, here's why. When someone wants to bring information gathered by a third party into a debate, I believe that the source of that information becomes critical.

We can't just accept whatever is written on some lunatic fringe website or in some guys blog as the word of law carved in stone.

Of course all media is slightly bias. My earlier commentary was to prove a point. Slight bias is acceptable. Moveon.org, mediamatters, informationclearinghouse, etc are grossly bias, written by agenda driven writers, and should be taken as such.
