Both X-Factor and some other guy both recently got a * for a dissenting opinion (on this second one I can look it up but I did comment on it within that thread). Point is, posters take their * seriously - whether people consider doing that dumb or not - and to give * them as a mod simply because you don't agree with them is pretty arbitrary and a slippery slope.

It isn't like said thread is/was a bastion of lively debate an substantive thought. But, what's done is done. I still really disagree with my exile and talked to NT about and realized arguing the decision is pointless. I made my bed... Nonetheless, there seem to be a lot of *s given out that are somewhat ridiculous.

It seems like the second and third are given out more freely than the first. I haven't seen many *'s given out lately, I think the BBV forums have helped quite a bit in that regard.

-1 was from saying i didn't much care for dids. i edited the post but he quoted it immediately and then gave me one. -1 was from starting an OOT about motorcycles being loud and dangerous. it was locked w/in 15 minutes despite 10 responses and discussion. never did get an explanation.
