You can order it at the Bellagio, but goodness knows how you can eat it at the table, smashed in like sardines.

No. All their gabillion restaurants are take-out only. Except the food court.

When did this change? I played there a lot over Labor Day 2006, and definitely saw players ordering off the room service menu.

FWIW, unless you're just crushed for time, it's better IMO to just go over to Grand Lux. Prices for the room service food were really high and the selections weren't very good.

Get a food comp and then order Noodle Asia to go. Last time I was there it was ready in 5 minutes and delicious.

During regular hours, you can only order room service at Bellagio from the high limit tables (they have more room around them). During the wee hours when the room is cleared out a bit, you can order room service at any table from a great, but pricey, menu.

Tableside service is also available at Harrah's, of all places, and Caesars. And hey, at Sahara the coffee show is 15 steps away from the poker room and they do takeout orders you can carry back to the poker room if you wish ($7 prime rib from 4:30pm to 7pm FTW).

I find eating at the table a bit awkward, inconvenient, and messy. Loved the look on the dealer's face at TI one night when a somewhat drunk guy came back from the gift shop with a candy bar, unwraps it, hangs on to it with his hot bare fingers as he eats it, then when it's his turn to act he shoves the whole thing in his mouth and grabs the cards which instantly turn milk chocolatey. "SETUP ON TABLE 3! Sir, please don't handle the cards with dirty fingers." "MMMMWaaaiiiooo?"

Awkward and messy, possibly, but not inconvenient, at least for those, like me, who need to extract as much poker as possible from their few and far between trips to LV.

My opinion of Casinos table food:
Caesars: Great BLT sandwich, service a bit slow.

Venetian: Bland and overpriced - however it was handy during the Deep Stack extravaganza as you got a $10 voucher with the buy-in, half the table ordered something.

Bellagio: I had a surreal experience on a very busy night, when I asked the lady at the podium about the food options and she gave me a gigantic menu from the noodle bar. She instructed me to ask one of the chip runners to take the order, however all the chiprunners bounced me saying they were too busy. I tried waving a red nickel at them but that didn't have any effect, they all stopped one inch short of telling me to eff myself. Meanwhile the lady at the podium kept saying that a new shift of chiprunners was due soon, and they would have been delighted to take my order, but the new shift never materialized. So I stood up from the table and went to eat directly at the noodle bar and I have to say they were the greatest noodles ever.
