Default Vegas Oct 26-27, where to stay

I am going to a conference Oct 28-31, staying at Mandalay Bay on my company. However, I am going 2 days earlier to play poker over the weekend. I won't be getting in until Friday around 7 PM and will be tired, so I can't really play hours Friday for a poker room rate.

I'm going to try to play the 8/16 limit at Wynn. I found a couple of decently cheap places from hotels.com within a few blocks:

Summer Bay Resort, 2 stars, 100 Winnick Avenue, $120 per night
Circus Circus, 3 stars, 2880 Las Vegas Blvd S, $135 per night
Embassy Suites, 3.5 stars, 4315 Swenson Street, $189 per night (good breakfast included?)

I don't mind walking a few long blocks, and don't really want to be much farther away than that.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

-Tom

did you call and try to get a poker rate at the wynn? its a slow time of the season so shouldn't be an issue.

Summer Bay is the pile of two storyish 1960's motel-like places sprawled out behind Harrah's. You don't want to stay there.

Ugh. Maybe check out Riviera's rates and take the short cab ride to Wynn. Or Strat or Sahara. Ugh.

I'd rather stay at the Bate's motel or even The Excalibur.
