Almost a c/r bluff.... so I\'ll post it 3/6
3 handed, I've been playing fairly solid thanks to hitting some hands. I've been c/r with the goods. I'm sitting with a decentish reg, but he's probably got a few leaks preflop I'd say. There's also a fish at the table, and we seem to be taking turns having a bite.
Onto the hand, I pick up J9s in the BB. Button (tag) raises to 24, I re-raise to 72, he calls. Flop is a T83 with 2 diamonds (I have none). I think about leading, but decide instead to c/r, because he for has been known to peel with stuff a bit light (99 for example), but the c/r would blow him out of it. He checks too. The turn is a 6, not a diamond. I check again, he bets half the pot, I very quickly push. Keep in mind, I have respect. Yeah or meh? |

This is a sweet line and I think it'll work really often since your hand looks super strong.

Yeah, his half-pot-bet-after-checked-flop seems like a textbook steal, and you still have a number of outs. He probably has a weak T and will fold or an 8 and will fold, but if he calls you still have 11 or 14 outs. Correct play imo.

Re: Almost a c/r bluff.... so I\'ll post it 3/6
would a strong hand AA, KK, QQ really check the flop AND turn looking for a checkraise, with 2 diamonds out and a river that could bring a possible 4 straight? he's not putting you on the nuts 79, since he thinks you're solid. TT 88 66 are kind of weird for you to be checking with a drawy board and out of position. Plus you may not be reraising 88 and 66. It depends on the player, but it doesn't seem to be a convincing argument that you have a monster based on the action, so you may get looked up by a lot more hands than you think

yeah, this obviously would have looked a lot better if it happened on the flop or if the flop texture is less drawy. it looks like you want him to fold. it would still be tough as hell to call with AT or 99 though

why do you think calling the flop with 99 is light?
