Why isn't anyone telling him he should have gotten a video card?

Yea, don't see any use for a video card, unless it improves performance. I don't mind how my current(which is the basic video card) set-up is visually.

Video cards do improve performance A LOT because they don't use your computer's RAM to display graphics like an integrated GPU would.........imo

plus you would be able to hook up an external monitor with nice resolution if you ever wanted to

but we're only talking about displaying 2-d windows stuff.

we're not gaming. it is such an insignificant load it's not an issue.

the integrated thingy on my dell happily runs a 1920x1200 AND 1600x1200 monitor externally.

Sorry, not canceling it again.

But I think I will be happy with this setup, I don't know how a $1800 set-up could possibly make me unhappy when I'm running like 4 programs.

Mainly I just want all these programs to not lag one bit, but now that I think of it a $800 comp probably would've done this

I will actually be datamining Tilt/looking over stars games, and searching for games between 2/4nl-10/20nl. So I will be running 30 tables on both sites and PT/PAHud or HM(whichever I find to be better at release), as well as a couple AHK scripts, and once I start this I also want to be able to still watch videos or w/e else I want when playing. So I guess this might be a good spend.

Can I write this off on taxes?

It looks ok.

-I would definitely get a 7200rpm SATA 2 HDD

-3gig of RAM is pretty LOL considering you are only playing poker.

Other than that it looks fine.

If you file as professional, yes. Just make sure you keep the receipt.
