Default Women are dirty

Women have three to four times the number of bacteria in, on and around their desks, phones, computers, keyboards, drawers and personal items as men do, the study by University of Arizona professor Charles Gerba showed

This is the part I liked:

Food in desk drawers also harbors lots of microorganisms, and it is more abundant among female office workers. Gerba found 75 percent of women had munchies in their desks.

"I was really surprised how much food there was in a woman's desk," he said. "If there's ever a famine, that's the first place I'll look for food."

I don't know why this is true but it is. All the girls I know keep snacks at their desks. Why is that?

Because they're all on "diets" which apparently aren't violated by "light snacking". Also, if they work in HR they're all on Weight Watchers, but if you throw a box of Krispy Kremes in the break room you can break a few company policies unnoticed while they fight each other for them.

I didn't read the whole article, and I'm not sure if they mentioned this in the article. But, think about hot gross it is when women go to the bathroom and put their purses on the bathroom floor, then put there purses on the table.

Read about Hunter-Gatherer societies. Facsinating subject and provides insight to why this is %100 true.

Women eat a lot more "comfort" food. So when they get stressed out at work, they reach for a ho-ho.

Not true, at least in my experience. I used to work in a restaurant, and we had to change the paper towels and toilet paper rolls in the men's bathroom a lot. In the women's bathroom, the towels lasted forever. I seriously doubt it's because women liked to grab the door handles with wet hands.

My theory on why women's hands are often at least as dirty as those of guys -- hand lotions, and long fingernails. Long fingernails trap food and dirty super easily, and moist or oily skin holds dirt a lot more easily than dry skin.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think men have a more inherent sense that they're basically dirty pigs than women do. I don't know if that means they're usually cleaner or not, but I think women probably think of themselves as clean more than men do, and that might well mean less effort to be clean.

P.S. -- if you've ever cleaned out the keyboards in an office, it can be pretty disgusting. I've found maggots in some of them. Too much eating at the desk combined with too little care to keep the hands clean while doing it.

I understand your point, but I don't believe they have the targeting issues we have- so I wouldn't think those little driblets are common around their toilets.

Well I'm a student, so I have a backpack, not a desk, but I keep snacks in there and I can say why.

Most of my actual meals are pretty small and I'll get hungry again after 2 hours. I also turn into a raving bitch when I'm hungry, so I keep fruit, nuts and string cheese in my bag, and I'm always nibbling between classes.
