Default Flop low MP, line check

Villain is 61/30/1.43.

PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
4 folds, SB raises, Hero calls.

Flop: (4 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises...

If I just call, he'll likely fire again on the turn and at least see a river, giving him another chance to outdraw my low pair. However, he'll be putting money in on the turn when he's behind.

The value in raising the flop and leading the turn is that if he has overcards to my pair, he'll fold the turn if he hasn't hit anything. He won't see a river.

Which is better, raising the flop, or calling the flop?

Default Re: Flop low MP, line check

I usually 3-bet this preflop and take it from there.

Given your play, I usually raise the flop, because you likely have the best hand and he's going to give you more action than he should. If he 3-bets I call and strongly consider popping most turns.

He also won't ever fold the turn if he has K or A high.
