Default Did I angle shoot?

Live 1/2 NL game at a local club. I am on the button with 22 and the pop it to $15 after 3 or 4 limpers. Only the BB calls. Flop is something insignificant, BB leads for $25. I pick up all my chips straight up like I am going to push (I was going to). He beats me to the pot, I put my chips down and fold. I never said a word before any of this. BB realized his mistake nobody at the table had a problem with it but it felt dirty. Funny thing is I was ahead!

Anyone have a problem with this? Did I angle shoot in any way?

If your intention was to push and not see what he was going to do if you pretended to push, then no. In most cases though if you have to ask you were probably shooting an angle.

That fact does not mean the OP wasn't trying an angle shoot. That's the whole purpose of the most of the time.

people get beaten in to pots all the time, especially in Limit, especially hold em. I don't like it, but I don't ever say anything. When something like this happens though I just laugh on the inside.

Yes, you angle shot, but oh well. Not a huge one really. A mini shot?

Yes. But the victim asked for it.

I really was going to push, I may have taken some time considering it was basically a bluff, but he certainly beat me to the pot. It was not my intention to see if he would call first but who would know that other than me. That is why I was wondering if it is automatically an angle shoot regardless of intention.

You shot it, but he can't be so excited that he chases away his clientele...

I say no, if he is going to act out of turn like that it changes everything. You were only going to bet because the bluff had value to you. Now that your opponent is impossible to bluff out, you should have every opportunity NOT to have to put your chips in the middle without being considered an angle shooter.

It isn't. However, you know now that doing so may cause an excited opponent to react quickly. If you do it again i'd consider it an angle shot.
